An image that went around the world: a sea turtle with a plastic straw in its nose
Single-use plastic straws make up the largest share of single-use plastic at 36.4 billion tons. Their decomposition time is given as 500 years.
According to a statistical projection, by 2050 there will be more plastic in the sea than fish.
EU-wide ban on single-use plastic by 2021
To counteract environmental pollution caused by single-use plastic, the European Union introduced an EU-wide ban on single-use plastic products from 2021 in 2018.
The Turtleneck® Straw as a reusable alternative without sacrifice
Since the ban on plastic straws, there are a number of alternatives, of which the reusable straw is the most environmentally friendly. However, hardly any of the alternatives on offer can fulfil all the requirements placed on them. Especially when it comes to the aspect of bendability.
With our reusable drinking straw made of stainless steel, we eliminate all the weaknesses of previous alternatives to plastic straws. In terms of function and feel, the Turtleneck® Straw is in no way inferior to them and is simply fun to use. And it looks good too!
REGIONALITY AND SOCIAL
We at HalmBrüder work closely with the workshop for the disabled in Bensheim, where our reusable straws are packaged. We source our packaging from Dres GmbH in Speyer. Laser engraving is also carried out on our doorstep in beautiful Erbach/Odenwald at ZT Odenwald GmbH.
