That's why we only use food-grade stainless steel with the DIN 1.4301 material quality seal for the production of our metal straws - a high-quality and durable material that can be found in every kitchen. It is easy to bend and at the same time extremely stable - a prerequisite for the safe bending of our reusable drinking straw. This guarantees that our Turtleneck® Straw is extremely robust and durable despite its flexibility and that both cool cocktails and hot drinks can be enjoyed without worry.

With its rounded edges and its resistance to breakage, unlike a glass straw, the Turtleneck® Straw guarantees a pleasant and safe drinking experience. Tested and certified by Intertek®, our Turtleneck® Straw has been awarded the "mechanically safe" label, among others.

We only use stainless steel with material grade DIN 1.4301 for the production of our Turtleneck® Straw.

Will the Turtleneck® Straw change the taste of my drink?
No. For the Turtleneck® Straw we only use food-safe, taste-neutral stainless steel of material quality DIN 1.4301 - the gold standard in the food industry, which can therefore be found in every kitchen. Cooking pots, drinking bottles and cutlery are also made of this stainless steel.

No. Our Turtleneck® Straw is made of stainless steel of material quality DIN 1.4301 - the gold standard in the food industry, which can therefore be found in every kitchen. The high proportion of chromium (18% - 20%) in combination with a high proportion of nickel (8% - 10.5%) ensure extreme corrosion resistance and dishwasher safety.
What material is the Turtleneck® Straw made of?
For the Turtleneck® Straw we only use stainless steel with the material quality seal 1.4301 - the gold standard in the food industry. It is a stainless steel that has a comparatively high proportion of chromium (18% - 20%) and nickel (8% - 10.5%). These two components make stainless steel an everyday material that can be found in every kitchen. Chromium ensures the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. In combination with nickel, the stainless steel becomes even more resistant.
Good to know: The nickel content is not a disadvantage! On the contrary: the higher the nickel content, the more dishwasher-safe and acid-resistant the stainless steel is.
How stable is the Turtleneck® Straw?

Independent third parties from Intertek® tested the product and ultimately demonstrated its ease of cleaning and mechanical and chemical safety. How durable is the kink of the Turtleneck® Straw?
The Turtleneck® Straw can be used as a drinking straw forever even with normal use.
But of course nothing is indestructible – like everything in life. Even we cannot switch off physics. With a high bending frequency of hundreds of times per second, the resulting frictional heat can cause the material to become brittle.
